Confederation of Indian Organisations

The CIO is a group of individuals who are seeking to setup a network of information and service centres to help assist UK Indians gain access to help and support concerning mental health. We are national umbrella organisation aiming to represent the needs of the South Asian community in the UK. Seminars and conferences on issues affecting the South Asian Community such as health promotion, environment, mental health, self-harm, suicide, domestic violence and strokes. Provides training to statutory and voluntary agencies.

Clients come to us with a range of needs including:
Cultural isolation
Issues around sexuality
Issues around marriage
Domestic abuse
Alcoholism
Anxiety
Trauma
Grief
Depression


UK Indians looking for mental health services. English men and women of Indian decent are not immune to mental health issues, but often face culural barriers when seeking help and support.
