Glengall Wharf Garden

Glengall Wharf Garden is a community garden at the east end of Burgess Park on the Surrey Canal Walk.

A large and diverse natural space, the team run activities that bring a wide range of people to the garden, grow vegetables, herbs and fruit to share, hold regular events and celebrations and welcome everyone to help develop this beautiful space for the benefit of local people and visitors. Glengall Wharf Garden is a Permaculture Association Land Centre and it promotes permaculture through forest gardening, hugel mounds, organic techniques, sustainability and more.

Activities and events held at Glengall Wharf Garden include:

Herb Tuesdays, 11am-4pm. This is a wellbeing gardening programme aimed at adults over 18. Herb Tuesdays welcomes people who are living with or have experienced mental ill health and want to get out into a beautiful garden environment and help maintain the garden, grow herbs, sow seeds and maintain plants, help maintain our forest garden and much more. It is a relaxed, friendly day with lots to do and a shared lunch at 1pm. It’s suitable for beginners and there is a buddy volunteer scheme to provide support to anyone who might need some 1-1 help or just someone to work with.

General workshop Sundays, 1- 4pm, everyone welcome.

Grown in Peckham Thursdays, 10am-2pm, everyone welcome.

Anyone interested in developing opportunities to grow and harvest food from Burgess Park.
