Donating unclaimed client accounts
Together is grateful for every donation we receive and it makes a huge difference helping us continue to support people who’ve experienced mental distress throughout our services. The donation of unclaimed client accounts is a very appreciated way to contribute to our work.
Following a change in the law in October 2014, residual client account balances of up to £500 can be donated to charity without authorisation from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
You can donate unclaimed client accounts to Together, if reasonable attempts have failed to establish the identity and contact details of the money’s owner.
How solicitors can donate unclaimed client accounts to Together
Where the rightful owner cannot be traced you may donate the unclaimed client funds to Together for Mental Wellbeing by:
Bank transfer
Please contact income-invoiced@together-uk.org to arrange a bank transfer.
Alternatively to arrange the bank transfer personally, please use the details below and add the reference “Unclaimed Account” and the name of your organisation:

Transferring amounts over £500
Amounts over £500 can also be paid to Together provided the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) grants permission. To obtain permission please contact the Professional Ethics Guidance Team at the SRA:

Subject to confirmation that you have obtained the necessary SRA approval, we will email you acknowledgment of receipt, and provide a signed individual indemnity letter for your records.
Together has sufficient safeguards in place to guarantee that all funds if reclaimed will be refunded.
