Southwark Community Harm Exploitation Operational Group

The Community Harm Exploitation Operational Group (CHE-OG) is a multi-disciplinary initiative aimed to address the serious issue of urban violence in the borough of Southwark that includes Serious Group Offenders.

Southwark Community Harm Exploitation Operational Group

It is managed by the Southwark Community Safety & Partnerships Team within the Housing Directorate of the Council As a partner agency of CHE-OG, Together offers a voluntary service of forensic mental health to young people aged 16-24 years old who are at risk from gang related activity or serious violence.

Our Together service in CHE-OG offers:

  • Health and wellbeing assessments
  • Low-Intensity evidence-based psychological interventions, including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy; Motivational Interviewing; Brief Solution Focused Therapy; Compassion Focused Therapy
  • Advice, consultation and training to CHE-OG practitioners and staff of key stakeholders
  • Signposting and referrals to statutory and non-statutory community partners

The provision of the Together Forensic Mental Health Service plays an essential role in the journey towards better mental wellbeing of young people referred to and accepted by CHE-OG for support. This involves building a picture of needs and risk factors, sharing information and liaising with other agencies. It is also to ensure the people who use our service and their families are able to access advice and support as necessary.
