MOPAC Youth to Adult Service

The Youth to Adult Service is commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC). The service is led by East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) and it is a partnership between ELFT, Together, London Pathways Partnership (LPP) and Rights and Equalities in Newham (REIN).

MOPAC Youth to Adult Service

Within the service we work with young people on probation in Newham aged 18-25 in a new and innovative pilot Transitions to Adulthood hub. The hub provides wrap-around support tailored to the distinct needs of young adults, including an understanding of maturity, in order to reduce reoffending, improve mental health and support young adults to make positive life choices.

The service is co-located in Newham probation and delivers therapeutic, psychological and psychiatric interventions to young adults and embeds psychologically informed practice across the hub, with an emphasis on trauma informed care. Young Black and Muslim men and women are significantly represented in the hub and our staff require a high level of cultural competence and sensitivity to issues relevant to young minority groups.
