About the service

We work to support people in Warwickshire with a range of disabilities who would benefit from short-term housing related support.

We provide two services in Warwickshire:

  • SWiFT (Supporting Warwickshire in Forward Thinking)
  • Floating Housing Support

Access to our services is designed to be as easy and straightforward as possible. We aim to make support genuinely self-directed for everyone we work with. Once a referral has been submitted, whether through self-referral or from another professional, it will be assessed to determine first, whether it is an appropriate referral for Together Warwickshire, and secondly, whether an individual would benefit from support from our SWiFT service, our Floating Housing Support service or both.

Our Floating Housing Support service provides targeted, 1 to 1 housing related support to set up, understand, manage and maintain tenancies and prevent a risk of eviction and homelessness. Our aim is to empower people so that they can independently maintain their tenancies once our support comes to an end.

In line with tenancy support, or team can provide guidance with:

  • Support to stay in your home
  • Support towards living in your own home
  • Learning how to set up and manage bills
  • Budgeting and income maximisation
  • Support to access volunteering, employment, and education opportunities
  • Accessing your local community
  • Support to understand and identify risks within your home
  • And more.

SWiFT provides support to those who may not require full floating housing support, but would still benefit from short-term help and guidance on their housing situations. Our Referral Coordinators will offer short-term support via telephone, email, or text, to advise you on how to best approach your immediate housing need.

SWiFT will be able to provide guidance on concerns like…

  • How to apply for the local housing register
  • What to do when served an eviction notice
  • How to follow personal housing plans
  • Grant applications for white goods and furniture
  • How to improve housing banding where possible
  • How to approach the council if homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • And more.

The SWiFT service will:

  • Enable clients to receive support faster
  • Empower clients to complete small goals themselves
  • Provide access to relevant information and guidance in a timely manner
  • Fill in the gaps and provide a service to those who may otherwise not receive it

In line with the Together ethos of providing person-centred support that values lived experience, we encourage people who use the service to lead their journey. That allows them to find ways to gain, develop, and maintain the skills they need to live independent lives and manage their own wellbeing in ways that make sense to their personal circumstances.

  • Service user leadership – individuals lead their journey to wellbeing and are at the centre of shaping how the service is delivered.
  • Meaningful personalisation – people we support benefit from person-centred support.
  • Open-minded approach and excellent customer service.
  • Healthy living in the community – we help people identify and access mainstream solutions within their own community and recognise the importance of a healthy mind, body and spirit.
