About the service
Hopewell House is a supported accommodation scheme based on Portsmouth Road in Guildford, near the town centre and is home to ten people. We work alongside residents to provide a holistic support package tailored to meet their identified needs and goals. The house is a listed, semi-detached, four-storey building in a residential area. It has ten bedrooms plus shared living areas, laundry facilities and a kitchen. There is a large back garden.
Our aim is to support and work alongside people experiencing mental distress on the journey towards better mental wellbeing. Leading their own care and support, people will usually stay for anything from six months to up to two years with the aim of supporting them to live independently (i.e. living alone out in the community, or living with less support), although there is no limit to the stay. During that time they will work with a keyworker to successfully achieve their hopes and aspirations, which will include establishing what the best option for longer term accommodation might be for them as well as .
The staff team includes a Project Manager, one Senior Recovery Worker, and four Recovery Workers.
The house is within easy walking distance of Guildford town centre and the main line railway station. Guildford is an historic town set in beautiful countryside that offers nature trails and walks. The town itself offers a wide range of leisure facilities, including a multi-screen cinema, theatres, bowling alley, gyms, and even a castle.
Guildford has a wealth of schemes and support organisations to help people with assistance across a number of areas, and access to education opportunities (Guildford has a college and adult education centre, both near the town centre).
