Services offered:
Health and Advocacy Service
The Health and Advocacy Service is based in HMP Bronzefield. This service aims to identify and work with women going through the Criminal Justice System who experience mental distress and other vulnerabilities to support their access to appropriate services whilst in custody and in the community. We work with women on remand with a variety of needs, including prenatal and perinatal needs, making a real difference to their lives whilst in custody and beyond.
The service works closely with the charity, Women in Prison (WiP), the prison based healthcare team and Probation to support vulnerable women in a forensic setting who often get overlooked, may feel unheard, and who without services like ours, may not have appropriate care in place before being released into the community. We support and deliver early intervention and services for women in contact with the Criminal Justice System, including Diversion and Out of Court Disposals, and make a positive difference in their lives by reducing reoffending, and making physical and mental healthcare services more accessible.
