Together launch new website design
Together are proud to announce the development of a new website. We have created a modern and accessible site that better represents the mental health services we provide and the people who use them.
The people who use Together services are at the heart of everything we do and we value their lived experiences. They influence and shape the support they receive from us, and the way our services are run. They were therefore central to the re-design of our website; we conducted research with a selection of people with lived experience of mental distress, ascertaining their views on both content and style.
We took the decision to refresh our website for a variety of reasons, the first being the age of the existing site which had not been updated for ten years. This meant there were clear improvements we were able to make to the navigation of the site and in the way information on our services and the ways we work alongside people were displayed. The refresh also gave us an opportunity to review the language and terminology we use to describe the way we provide mental health support and ensure its consistency across the site.
The factors above were considered in our research with people who use our services when we were working on the design of the new website. Another set of users we consulted were healthcare and social work professionals who refer people to our services to ensure the site worked efficiently and effectively for them too.
It was always going to be important that the right developer was chosen to support us in this project. We conducted a tender process and were pleased to choose Reason Digital who showed a high level of technical expertise and knowledge alongside a desire to work with organisations like ours working for charitable causes. Reason Digital are an award-winning social enterprise that partners with organisations that care, to create digital tools alongside people with lived experience. Their team of 50 tech for good experts work with charities and other pro-social organisations to support them in developing digital solutions and strategy with one goal – to improve the lives of the people they serve.
