Pact
Pact is a national charity which supports people affected by imprisonment. They provide practical and emotional support to prisoners’ children and families, and to prisoners themselves. They run a free helpline that offers specialist advice to anyone with a family member or friend in court or prison. The helpline is available Monday to Friday, 10am-5pm.
In addition to their helpline, Pact run a number of other services, including:
- Court Service. Pact have teams of trained volunteers in courts throughout London making contact with the families and friends of those sentenced to custody.
- Befriending. Pact have a team of trained volunteer befrienders who can offer sympathetic, reliable, non-judgemental support.
- Children and family projects, including advocacy for children’s rights, high-quality play provision in prison visiting halls, relationship and parenting courses.
- Campaigning and advocacy work.
