Safer Space+

Safer Space+

Safer Space+ is a specialist support service for children and young people affected by domestic abuse. The project is open to children and young people between the ages of 5 to 18 years old who reside or are educated in London. The project offers support on a weekly basis of up to eight weeks. The one to one support service includes: Advocacy, Emotional Support, Practical Support, Safety Planning, Support through the court process, Confidence building, Exploration of healthy and unhealthy relationships.

Initial support is provided by Victim Support’s Children and Young People Service (You & Co project) – https://www.victimsupport.org.uk/more-us/why-choose-us/specialist-services/children-and-young-people

When the 8 weeks of support comes to end, children who are aged between 5-12 years old can access Chance UK’s Mentoring Programme for up to 9 months. Victim Support will make this referral to Chance UK (Please be advised that the above project is funded for one year- Nov 18- Nov 19, this will mean that Chance UK will stop receiving referrals as of July 2019).
