Friends of the Elderly

Friends of the Elderly is a charity dedicated to providing support for older people. We have a range of services including residential care homes, specialist dementia care, day clubs, home and telephone support. Our grant giving service has been in existence since 1905 and continues to provide grants to those in most need. We have been dedicated to supporting older people for over 100 years and will continue to do so in the future.
A phone befriending service for people aged 60 and over, and facing isolation. This service is for older people that would like to receive a regular call from a volunteer, and build up a friendship on the phone. The clients we help are usually facing isolation, without a support network of family and friends, and could be depressed or recently bereaved. We don’t recruit new clients with dementia.
