CGL: Change, Grow, Live.

CGL is a free, safe and confidential drug and alcohol service for any adult over the age of 18 who lives in the London Borough of Southwark. The service supports all people from any background, who uses any kind of drug and/or alcohol and who want to recover or change. CGL work with individuals, families and communities to prevent and reduce harm, to promote recovery and to challenge the inequalities linked to alcohol and drug misuse.
CGL work at all levels, from prevention and early engagement, through to recovery. They understand people may also be dealing with other issues and they offer a range of ‘wrap around’ services to support these.

CGL Southwark provides a full range of support services for people wanting to change their use of drugs and alcohol. This includes:

  • Group sessions, including a women’s group and complimentary therapies
  • Signposting and practical support
  • Needle exchange
  • Family services
  • Sunday social group
  • Services for carers of people with substance misuse issues

CGL’s Hidden Harm Project supports children and young people who are affected by substance misuse. They offer seven sessions of one-to-one emotional support to Southwark residents aged 5-18 years. These sessions usually take place at the child or young person’s school.
