Services offered:
Ravenhill Way provides a supportive home for up to ten residents aged between 18 and 65. The care-home occupies two houses that were purpose-built in 1992 by the Aldwyck Housing Association. The houses are linked by a conservatory that opens on to a large garden at the rear.
Each house has a living room, kitchen, five bedrooms and bathrooms, plus laundry facilities. The residents do all their own washing (support can be provided), residents and staff plan and prepare all the meals together.
The eight-person staff team provides 24-hour care. We also employ a cleaner who looks after the communal areas, and will help any resident who needs assistance to clean their own room.
Residents are not necessarily expected to move on to more independent living beyond the home, rather to be as independent as possible within the house.
Ravenhill Way is about five miles from the centre of Luton and less than 3 miles from Dunstable town centre. We have bus stops less than a minutes’ walk away. Luton Town offers a cinema, bowling, shopping, library and a variety of restaurants. Luton is a multi-cultural town and so the staff are able to support residents to meet their cultural, spiritual and religious needs.
There is a local shop next to the house, plus a recreational centre and swimming pool across the road. There is a local library which is just under a 15 minute walk from the home. Residents can access local day-centres and workshops in the area.
