About the service

Avalon is a 24 hour recovery-focused supported living service for eight adults with a range of mental health needs. The house is a spacious two-storey building, set in large secluded gardens with a pond and pergola. Each tenant has their own room, and everyone shares a communal lounge, kitchen/diner and conservatory.

All individuals living at the service are responsible for their own budgeting, medication, shopping, cooking, cleaning and laundry, although support for these can be provided if necessary. The tenants hold monthly meetings to discuss their needs and any house business. They are involved with the recruitment and selection of staff and in the assessment of potential new tenants.

The staff team includes a Manager, one Senior Recovery Worker and 4.5 Recovery Workers, who provide support 24 hours a day.  In addition, a part-time cleaner is employed to maintain the communal areas. There is also an active network of Peer Support at the service.

Located in a quiet residential area, Avalon is close to local shops and to Ashtead Common, a large countryside area. The local shops in Ashtead village are within easy walking distance. There is good public transport to nearby Leatherhead, Epsom and central London.
