Crisis support

If you are in distress and need immediate help, these numbers may be of help:

  • Samaritans offer confidential and non-judgmental emotional support whenever you need someone to talk to. They’re available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call 116 123
  •  FRANK provides information and advice about drugs. Call 0300 123 6600
  • Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Call 0300 123 3393. Open 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday (except for bank holidays). You can ask about – mental health problems, where to get help near you, treatment options and advocacy services
  • Anxiety UK provide a helpline to help people with their anxiety call 03444 775774
  • If you’re under 35 and struggling with suicidal feelings, or concerned about a young person who might be struggling, you can call Papyrus HOPELINEUK on 0800 068 4141 (weekdays 10am-10pm, weekends 2pm-10pm and bank holidays 2pm–10pm)
  • If you identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, you can call Switchboard on 0300 330 0630 (10am–10pm every day)
  • If you’re under 25, you can call The Mix on 0808 808 4994 (Sunday-Friday 2pm–11pm)
  • Shout can help if you’re experiencing a personal crisis, are unable to cope and need support. For support in a crisis, text Shout to 85258 with urgent issues such as:
    • Suicidal thoughts
    • Abuse or assault
    • Self-harm
    • Bullying
    • Relationship challenges

Please note that while Together does provide a small number of crisis beds, our staff are not able to deal with crisis calls from members of the public.
