Elim House Day Community Venture (formerly known as BEGS).

Elim House Day Centre is open five-day-a-week and staffed by a team of qualified care workers and local volunteers.The aim of the project is to provide a safe and friendly environment for all its users, the majority of whom are elderly people of African/Caribbean descent. But irrespective of where you come from or your culture, those of you over 60 can be certain of a warm and friendly welcome. For here at Elim House Day Centre its users can meet and participate in activities that are appropriate for their needs.

Run by the Elim House Community Venture, the centre’s wide range of attractions include a nutritious two course cooked lunch each day and a support service of information and advice on a range of issues relevant to service users such as welfare rights, benefits and housing issues. In addition the centre can organise transport to and from the day centre for disabled service users who are unable to arrange independent transport.


People over 60 with many members of African/Caribbean descent.
£10-£35 per day depending on support needs, plus £4 per day for lunch. If you are eligible, funds can come from Personal Budgets from social services. Open Monday to Friday with weekend events.
