Faces in Focus

Faces in Focus

Faces in Focus offer low-cost counselling for young people aged 11-25 in Southwark and Lambeth. They are able to work with clients with a wide range of issues and needs, including:

  • depression
  • anger
  • anxiety
  • sexuality
  • gender issues
  • loneliness
  • problems at school, college and work
  • family problems
  • bereavement

They can also try to provide counselling in languages other than English. The counselling sessions are flexible and open-ended, and Faces in Focus will try to make arrangements for people who are unable to afford the low-cost fee. They are open for appointments Monday to Thursday (mornings, afternoons and evenings), Friday (until 4pm) and Saturday from (10am to 2pm).

Faces in Focus’s counselling charges are as follows:

  • People under 18 and resident in Southwark or Lambeth – £5 per session
  • Anyone over 18 but under 25 not in work and without an income – £5 per session
  • Anyone over 18 and in work or with an income, or anyone living outside of Southwark or Lambeth  – £10 per session

The referral process has two steps: Once the completed referral has been received, it will be processed into an initial assessment (necessary in order to enter the waiting list) in approximately four weeks’ time. After the client has been added to the waiting list it usually takes around three weeks to have a counsellor available to start working with them, depending on the client’s availability.
