London Friend

London Friend

Established in 1972 London Friend is the UK’s oldest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans charity. We’re here to support the health and mental well-being of the LGB&T community in and around London. We offer counselling and support around issues such as same-sex relationships, sexual and gender identity and promoting personal growth and self-confidence. We’re also home to Antidote – the UK’s only LGB&T drug and alcohol service. Our social groups provide a safe space to meet and socialise as an alternative to the bar and club scene. Our services are delivered by trained Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans volunteers. The services we currently provide include:

• LGB&T counselling
• Training for healthcare professionals
• Drug and alcohol support
• LGB&T helpline
• Social and support groups
• Coming out groups
• Volunteering opportunities
• A selection of LGB&T books, magazines and information

Helpline:
If you want to discuss safer sex , same-sex relationships, coming out, dealing with bereavement, trans or other LGB&T issues, then call our evening helpline, run by trained volunteers. The helpline runs on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Counseling:
Contact us via telephone on 020 7833 1674 and, if counselling is appropriate, we will meet you for an initial assessment interview from which together we can agree an appropriate way forward. Please note that our counselling service is very popular and experiences a heavy demand; as such we operate a waiting list, and it may be several weeks before we are able to offer you an initial assessment.
