Helping Hands for Refugees and Disabled

Helping Hands for Refugees and Disabled (UK) is a non-profit disabled led, run by skilled committee members and volunteers dedicated to helping disabled people and socially-disadvantaged people and groups, as well as improving the quality of life and sustaining healthy communities. Our aim is to provide specialist aid and support services for disabled people, elderly people, house-bound people, single parents, BMER, LGBT, victims of abuse, women suffering from stress, the homeless, refugees, immigrants and all socially disadvantaged people. We endeavour to increase the skills and educational capacity of potential volunteers so that they can meet the needs of their communities. We provide assisted and self-help information, advocacy and counselling and Trainings, Befriending & Mentoring, drop-in sessions, Home and Hospital Visits, Free Interpreting and Translation, Work placements, Volunteering etc . We also endeavor to support volunteers and service users by providing the accredited training and engaging them with the wider community.

Our Mission is to develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged community of City of London, West Minister, Redbridge, Newham and Barking & Dagenham so that their needs are met and so that they will be able to participate more fully in society.
