Telefono de la Esperanza are a non-profit organisation that offer free support for people who are in crisis. It also promotes programs to improve the emotional health of individuals, families and society as a whole. The mission of Telephone of Hope UK is prevention and promotion of emotional health and especially people who are in crisis, focusing on the Spanish-Portuguese speaking group in the UK. TEUK aims to address situations of crisis with immediate, free, anonymous and specialized help.
TEUK offers four complementary resources:
• Permanent Counseling Telephone Service: The telephone service is staffed by volunteers who are trained specialists in listening to help people. It operates from 2pm-8pm, Monday to Friday.
• Professional Counseling and Intervention Consultation: A service given by a multidisciplinary team of professionals that include psychologists, social workers, lawyers and other specialists.
• Family Counseling Service: This service is provided by family counselors and therapists in an intimate consultation with family members to meet family needs.
• Workshops for specific crisis: Includes several group programs to connect with people who are going through similar crises, such as coping with grief, effective separation, learning to live chronic illness, domestic violence, etc.
El Teléfono de la Esperanza es una Organización especializada en salud emocional para las personas de habla Hispana y Portuguesa (luxoparlates). Su área de trabajo es la intervención en crisis a través de una línea de teléfono de emergencia y de profesionales; incluyendo psicólogos, terapeutas y trabajadores sociales. Los servicios se ofrecen a través de entrevistas personales y/o familiares y terapia en grupo.
