SpeakerBox

SpeakerBox is a forum for Southwark children and young people in care and care leavers up to the age of 21 (or 25 if they are in full time education). This also includes children who are privately fostered and children and young people who are from other local authorities but placed in Southwark. There is a Primary Age Group (ages 6-11), a secondary age group (12 to 16/18) and a care leaver group (16/18 to 21/25).

SpeakerBox is a young people led forum where children and young people in care and care leavers can meet peers, talk about their experience of being in care and inform Council practice. They run a range of different activities, consultations and projects to get involved in. The forum is supported by a project worker and Children’s Rights Officer.
