Central Southwark Community Hub
The Central Southwark Community Hub, which includes a food bank, will give people in need a place to visit that will help them receive some basic care provisions and give them the means to improve their own situations.
The Central Southwark Community Hub will offer the following services:
- Foodbank. CSC Hub partner with frontline professionals such as schools, GPs, Citizens Advice Bureaux, social services, and other advice and support agencies who refer local residents to the service. A food parcel of three days food is given to the client when they arrive at the Foodbank centre, depending on the size of the family. They offer a warm welcoming atmosphere and tea/coffee, biscuits with free advice and signposting to other appropriate support services, helping to address the underlining cause.
- Holiday Activity Clubs. Holiday Activity Club facilities for children who receive free school meals during term times, but in the holidays would have to go without. CSC Hub, along with their partners, aim to provide Holiday learning, food and play for families who need it most.
- Community Cafe. Whether you’re a parent with toddlers, a shopper on the way home, or retired and looking for company, come and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and tea/coffee and biscuits/cakes.
- Education and Training. The following courses will be offered: healthy cooking classes, budgetting workshops, life skills and employment training, arts and crafts.
The Central Southwark Commuity Hub will be a place where people can relax away from the stresses of living in the world today, while receiving the food and support they need to stay healthy. The CSC Hub will guide clients in learning what benefits are available to them, and will also provide employment support.
