Getting people back to work through skills-training services

A meaningful, paid job is something that most of us regard as being essential for our mental health. At Together, we believe that people with mental health problems deserve the support they need to find training or work that they enjoy.
It can be particularly hard for people with mental health problems to re-enter employment after a period out of the workplace. It is easy to lose confidence or become deskilled, and some employers discriminate against people who have experienced mental distress.

1.Our Experience

We use our mental health expertise to run work-training and employment schemes that offer people with mental health problems the support they need to return to work.

Together runs two different types of employment service for people with mental health problems: skills-training services and personal-development services.

We are working to expand their number, so that more people with mental health problems can be supported to return to work.

2.What is a skills-training service?

Our skills-training services offer tuition in skills such as IT, carpentry, and office administration, as well as support with things like CV preparation, accessing local training courses, finding work experience, and applying for jobs. Find out more about what's on offer.

3.Find a Together skills-training service

4.‘Visit’ a skills-training service

Read about day-to-day life in a typical skills-training service.

5.‘How a Together skills-training service helped me’

People who have used our skills-training services share their experiences and explain how it worked for them.
