About the service

Originally opened in 1987, the care-home in Randolph Avenue is a large, five-storey, terraced house with a garden, situated on a tree-lined avenue close to Maida Vale tube station. We provide a home for up to 12 male residents who come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds, and have a wide range of support needs.

A team of seven staff works at the home with at least two staff on duty at all times during the day and one sleeping in overnight.

Residents meet once a week to discuss any issues that have arisen and to make decisions together that affect the house. Meals are chosen, planned, shopped for and prepared by residents on a rota basis, with help from staff if it is needed. Cleaning is also the responsibility of those living in the house. Residents are responsible for their own laundry using the facilities provided at the home. All clients are supported to work towards self-catering and self-medicating.

Randolph Avenue is a short-stay facility, with people returning to the wider community as soon as they are well and confident enough to do so. The project has good access to various local employment schemes, day-support services and local amenities. All clients are supported and encouraged to make best use of all resources available.

Staff will continue to support former residents to settle in once they have moved out of the home (for a limited period on a less formal basis), and will make sure that they have any further support they need from other agencies.
