About the service
The house at Greenhill Lodge provides a supportive home for up to ten people, with current residents aged between their early 50s and early 70s. The building is a large detached Victorian house with three floors and a large garden. All residents have their own room and they share communal areas including lounge, dining room, kitchens, games room and laundry. Service users prepare their own food (with support if needed).
Greenhill Lodge provides a secure, comfortable home while building confidence before moving on to live more independently. We aim to provide the best possible support for service users on their journey to recovery. Support is given based on individual needs.
The staff team provides support 24 hours a day, with at least two staff always available during the day, one sleeping in overnight – who are available if needed.
Service users and staff meet every week to discuss matters affecting the day-to-day running of the house.
The house sits in a quiet road about a mile from Watford town centre. The staff encourage all service users to be involved in different activities in the local community. Whether they are interested in making new friends by going to a day centre, taking up a new hobby, or finding a job or work experience.
There are good shopping facilities and an outdoor market. The town also has good sports and leisure facilities, opportunities for adult education, work schemes, and various day-centres. There are good bus, train and road links to London and surrounding areas.
In addition, Greenhill Lodge also has three self-contained flats for service users who wish to live more independently, each flat includes bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge, and a separate intercom and doorbell system. There is a self-contained flat on each floor of Greenhill Lodge.
