About the service
The supported-housing service at Cadmore Lane is open to anyone in the Cheshunt area who:
- is homeless
- experiences mental distress
- has support needs that the service can meet.
We also consider people with dual diagnosis.
History
Cadmore Lane opened in July 2005.
Location
Cadmore Lane is a five-minute walk to the local shops, train station, swimming pool, theatre and church. The Lea Valley Park, a local conservation area, is also close by and offers a variety of water activities including boating. A good bus service operates in the Cheshunt area if you would like to go further afield.
Service user profile
The service is for men and women aged between 18 and 65. All referrals must come through Broxbourne Borough council.
Length of stay
Cadmore Lane aims to support residents for as long as they wish but we will support you to move in to more independent accommodation if that is what you want to do.
Number of clients/residents
Cadmore Lane provides a home for nine people.
Staff and facilities
Cadmore Lane is staffed by a Project Manager, one full-time Senior Social Care worker and two Relief Senior Social Care workers who are employed on a part-time basis.
Cadmore Lane aims to offer regular, planned, practical support with day-to-day things such as:
- life skills, life routines and domestic organisation
- financial matters, including help with budgeting and how to pay bills
- mental and physical health issues, including assistance with supporting you to maintain good health and assistance with medical appointments
- liasing with other professionals to ensure that you get the right level of ongoing support
- social networks, helping you identify how to pursue your interests and get involved in your community. It could be anything from joining the library to finding an art club.
Training
Staff can help you access education and training courses in the local area. You will be encouraged to develop new skills and take up new hobbies. We can also support you in finding voluntary or paid employment by helping you to fill in application forms and prepare for interviews.

Residential information
Cadmore Lane is made up of nine self-contained flats, each with its own sitting room, bathroom and fully fitted kitchen. Each resident has the use of a designated parking space.
Communal areas
Residents share access to a pretty garden with lawns and flowerbeds.
Is 24-hour support available?
Yes: there is a 24-hour on-call service for Cadmore Lane residents.
Catering and laundry
Every flat has its own washing machine and there are two washing lines in the garden for residents to dry their clothes.
