Together, UK Mental Health Charity working alongside each person with mental health issues on their journey towards greater wellbeing. Trusted experts in service user involvement

Graduate Opportunities

Together is one of five leading national charities (Advance, RSPCA, Terrence Higgins Trust, Together: Working for Wellbeing and The Children’s Society) that have launched Charity Works, a unique internship programme promoting the charity sector to graduates in the UK.

We’re looking for graduates who want to make a difference by using their skills and experience to help others. This helps us make good use of fresh intellectual energy and give talented people great opportunities. We can offer:

  • One-year management training
  • A programme that covers the whole of the charity sector
  • £15k salary (external applicants)
  • Professional development
  • A range of positions
  • A good work-life balance

Here are a few things people have said about the Charity Works scheme:

“I want to believe in what I do. Flexibility is important too – I want the chance to try different roles before specialising. The programme sounds great and I would definitely apply.”

Lucy, student

“At a time when budgets are tight, Charity Works represents a new way of working in partnership across the charity sector - the collaboration potential is tremendous."

Brian Millar, HR Director, RSPCA

“We understand the challenges charities face in the light of current economic conditions - our income is at risk and in many cases we will have to cut back. But we also believe it is essential to look ahead and prepare ourselves for the upturn. We know we will always need management and leadership talent. Charity Works is an innovative and cost effective way to attract new talent, as well as the opportunity to reach out to graduates who are in our organisations now and want to stay.”

Isabelle Simons Evans, HR Director, The Children’s Society

"It has always been our intention to promote the charity sector as a career of choice and to do this with confidence. So often in the past charities have felt the need to find talent in other places, recruiting so many people on a second or final career path once skills had been developed in the private sector. We have created an exciting cause mix that will appeal to a wide range of graduates who are seeking the chance to make a difference.”
