All our work is inspired by our vision and mission

Together’s vision is of a world where people experiencing mental distress are able to live ordinary lives:
  • connecting with communities in a valued way and being accepted by them
  • having a proper, safe place to live with appropriate support when needed
  • living without fear or discrimination and without poverty
  • having hope for the future and a realistic chance of being able to realise individual ambitions
  • people who are experts by experience are valued, and peer support is tailored to every individual
Together’s mission is to work alongside people to improve their mental health and wellbeing and to promote hope.

Our 6 core Values:

Wellbeing for everyone

We believe everyone is entitled to wellbeing on their own, individual, terms. However, anyone can experience mental distress at some point in life, severely, enduringly or temporarily. Our aim is to support those people on their personal journey to wellbeing.

Holistic and person-centred

We see people as a whole and not just their diagnosis. When we support people, we take into account every aspect of their lives. We aim to support social, emotional, physical, spiritual and economic wellbeing.

Choice and control

We embrace the special expertise brought by people who use mental health services. Their hopes, aspirations and ideas influence all our work and determine our future – we will do our best to meet individual needs, traditional or innovative, whatever is particularly helpful. We will listen to all our stakeholders and translate best practice into action.

Valuing people

Everyone is important to us, those who work for us and use our services, communities, supporters and carers and those who work in partnership with us. We value difference and want everyone to be treated with personal dignity and respect, free from discrimination or harassment. We believe everyone has a positive contribution to make to wider society and we will encourage those who have experienced mental distress to take their rightful place.

Quality

We aim for high standards in all we do. This means that our business will be conducted with openness, honesty and accountability. We aim to be efficient and effective.

Future positive

We believe that everyone has the potential to achieve personal fulfilment and an improved quality of life. Mental distress can be heartbreaking, which makes it so important to appreciate and enjoy those things that bring happiness. We celebrate courage and achievement. We expect recovery.
