Special high-support residential services for people who need extra support to live in the community

1.Our Experience

Some of Together’s care-homes provide specialist support to people who have complex needs or a ‘dual diagnosis’. This means they have mental health needs as well as additional problems such as a substance-misuse history, a diagnosis of a personality disorder, previous contact with the criminal-justice system or challenging behaviour.

High-support services have a higher ratio of staff to residents and a particular emphasis on risk assessment and risk management. Staff are specially trained to work with people who have complex needs. They offer people who might otherwise be forced to stay in hospital for lack of suitable accommodation the chance to return to their local community and start rebuilding their lives there.

2.What is a high-support residential service?

Read our high support residential services Q&A and discover more about what high-support mental health residential services are, who can live in them, and what support they can offer.

3.Find a Together high-support residential service

If you, a relative, friend or client, would like to apply for a place in one of our residential services, please talk to the service concerned.

    4.‘Visit’ a high-support residential service

Read about day-to-day life in a typical high-support-residential service.
