Special high-support residential services for people who need extra support to live in the community
1.Our ExperienceSome of Together’s care-homes provide specialist support to people who have complex needs or a ‘dual diagnosis’. This means they have mental health needs as well as additional problems such as a substance-misuse history, a diagnosis of a personality disorder, previous contact with the criminal-justice system or challenging behaviour.
High-support services have a higher ratio of staff to residents and a particular emphasis on risk assessment and risk management. Staff are specially trained to work with people who have complex needs. They offer people who might otherwise be forced to stay in hospital for lack of suitable accommodation the chance to return to their local community and start rebuilding their lives there.
