The end of 2014 marked ten years since Together initially created its Service User Involvement Directorate.
During this time we have made huge strides towards our mission to be trusted leaders in service user involvement, leadership and peer support and to ensure that service user involvement is not only at the heart of Together as an organisation, but also mental health services more widely. We believe that service users can and should be involved in all aspects of service delivery from commissioning and designing services through to managing their own support.
To mark this ten year anniversary we have compiled a timeline to show the key moments where we made significant steps towards achieving this mission.
Click through the timeline below to see how far we have come over the past ten years. You will find perspectives from service users, videos and key milestones.
But we are not done yet! We still believe there is much to do before service users in all areas of the mental health system shape and lead their own support and that of their peers. And we will continue in our mission until this is achieved.
