| A meaningful, paid job is something that most of us regard as being essential for our mental health. At Together, we believe that people with mental health problems deserve the support they need to find training or work that they enjoy.
It can be particularly hard for people with mental health problems to re-enter employment after a period out of the workplace. It is easy to lose confidence or become deskilled, and some employers discriminate against people who have experienced mental distress.
We use our mental health expertise to run work-training and employment schemes that offer people with mental health problems the support they need to return to work.
Together runs two different types of service: skills-training services, and personal-development services. We are working to expand their number, so that more people with mental health problems can be supported to return to work.
What is a personal development service? Our personal-development services offer one-to-one support, helping people with issues such as: CV preparation; accessing local training courses; finding work experience; applying for jobs. Discover more about this type of service.
