Lawn Court is a registered care-home providing both long- and short-term care for up to 18 people with mental health problems. The building consists of two Victorian terraced houses joined together and overlooks a beautiful park in the sunny coastal resort of Bexhill-on-Sea.

Ongoing improvements to the house have led to an extension of the laundry and kitchen areas, and the development of a single bedsit with a kitchen for people who wish to live more independently. A separate kitchen for residents who want to make their own meals or practice cooking skills has also been provided.

There is a non-smoking TV lounge in a quiet area of the house. Tea- and coffee-making facilities are available at all times. A cook prepares the daily main meal and residents can prepare snacks and drinks at any time.

Residents’ meetings are held monthly in which decisions are made regarding the running of the house. The staff team consists of a Project Manager, Deputy Project Manager, two Senior Social Care Workers, six Social Care Workers (Day), two Social Care Workers (Night), a cook, and two cleaners.

Each resident agrees a care plan with their keyworker on the staff team which is tailored to meet their own particular needs.

Help with funding and moving to new housing is available, and staff can also support people living in their own homes.
