The house at Haslerig Close provides a supportive home for up to eight people, with current residents aged between their late 40s and early 70s. The building is a modern, two-storey house with a large garden. All residents have their own room (which they clean themselves), and share communal areas including lounges, kitchens, gardens and laundry. People prepare their own food.
The ten-strong staff team provides support 24 hours a day, with at least two staff always available during the day, one sleeping in overnight and one waking night staff.
Haslerig Close provides a home for residents for as long as they wish, and offers support to those who feel ready to move on to more independent living. Residents and staff meet every week to discuss matters affecting the day-to-day running of the house.
The house sits in a quiet cul-de-sac about a mile and a half from Aylesbury town centre. There are good shopping facilities and an indoor and outdoor market. The town also has good sports and leisure facilities, opportunities for adult education, work schemes, and various day-centres. There are good bus, train and road links to London and surrounding areas.
